Expectations for women vs Arkansas?

The Warhawks tipoff the 2023-2024 basketball season tonight against the Top 10 ranked Houston Cougars. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm CST. The game should be viewable on ESPN+. Vegas has Houston winning this one by 29.5 points. I don't see that bad of a butt whipping for the first game for each school. If so, ULM is in for an abysmal season.

2-6 against 1-7! Sad. They are -2.5 favorites. If we lose this game, I believe it will be the mental collapse for the rest of the season for the team. I’ve been wrong with ‘a good feeling ‘ over the last few games. I’m not feeling it this one, which means we’ll win . Us 31-20.

Did fant-ewing get a video board? I saw that one was mentioned in what ULM sent to the board of regents this past summer when they did the turf and football board update.

#6 in overall league standing. #2 in the west.
Only lost 1 conference match all season. Them gals need some recognition.

Unpopular opinion, ahead.

You have to be realistic.

It is really tough to dig out if the bottom of the FBS, especially when resources are limited. To do it, you have to be patient.

1. You cannot afford to pay a fired coach and invest in a new one. Doing so will only put you in a worse position.

2. Until your budget and facilities improve, it is going to be very difficult to attract a quality coaching staff. Who could you possibly attract that would be an improvement? You could take a risk on an FCS or D2 coach, but Akron did that only to become worse. Much worse.

I think part of this falls on Hartwell. He needs to help find ways to get a budget that allows the program to develop and attract kids. The lack of an indoor facility hurts. Dated facilities, hurt. Lack of cool uniforms, hurt.

Lack of solid media support hurts on multiple fronts.

The logo appeals to people with connections to NE LA but it is not very appealing to people who don't, and right now, that is the recruiting landscape, thanks to the portal.

You have a solid fan base and attendance isn't bad, given the records. That's something to build on.

McDonald recommended Kubik. It was probably after a conversation that discussed who they could get to move to Monroe for the money. Maybe we see Bowden move on from him this year, but it is the same quandary he had before: who can you get to move to Monroe for the salary, for a coach with a 1 year contract? Maybe someone will get fired and not sign with another team and be willing to do it, but it would have to take a special situation for that to happen.

Maybe Fobbs can do it, but maybe that isn't the right choice. He has done an incredible job with Special Teams.

Why aren't Bowden's post game interviews posted on the ULM website almost immediately? I would love to hear what the man has to say right after the game, especially a game like today.

Had a chance to stop by and see WBB practice. Good looking group with a lot of raw talent but still working to learn to play together. Really like the play of Daisha Bradson and Lauren Gross.

Frustrating to see EW get a few reps but really they are still waiting on clearance from NCAA; basically prep without her and hopefully get the bonus of her getting cleared.

for the ULM women at Arkansas on Nov 7th. We are preseason 11th in the SBC and they are preseason 6th in the SEC. Would LOVE to see Bilderback start the season with a major upset.

The 2025 game at Nebraska has been cancelled. Supposedly ULM will be picking up Northwestern and the game could ( high likelihood) be played at Solider Field in Chicago.

It's make or break time for the Warhawks. Will they step up to the challenge?

Not much left to go for on the season at this point. Don’t see us beating Troy or Ole Miss, so I don’t see how we get to 6 wins for a bowl. My question. Now is are we really going to burn murphy’s redshirt for the last half of the season or no? Or do they let him play 4 games and then shirt him after getting him game experience? Well that’s assuming he doesn’t bolt in the off-season.

In the second half of this game the offense showed actual life and excitement, where has that been all year? Where were the inventive play designs? The plays down the seams? I just don’t get it.

Curious to know - what would you think if naming rights were sold to a facility and it completely renamed it - ie it’s no longer Malone Stadium but rather Big Name company Stadium at Malone Field or Bigger name Stadium at Smaller Name field?

Lets go get a win. Why not. Hopefully we get a few tipped balls and picks. Need turnovers against their high powered offense. Get the run game going. Lets say for 250+>.. Win it on a 4th and inches from Goal Line.

Second road game in a row and coming off a 1 point loss in a game we should have won. Spread right now is GASO -17, I’d like to think we’d beat that but given how we played after the last 1 point loss and that our offense looks like a lost cause, I can understand that line.

1. I told you guys we would win this game and we should have. Just like with App State, coaching lost this game.
