Good Bye!

Folks I am leaving the Forum, not because I am unhappy with any of my fellow Alumni, our moderator, or any fan. I have had nothing but trouble with my subscription for the past year. I have always been a monthly subscriber but last year I was charged a yearly subscription. All complaints fell on deaf ears. I don't kno if any of you are aware but Rivals has a piss poor customer service/complaint portal. So after 3 months I just gave up on trying to correct the issue. Fast forward to my renewal this past weekend, even though clearly saying monthly I was charged yearly and my account debited. When I reached out to customer service I was sent a link for justask.com only to be charged $45 to my debit card with no results! So thanks for the good and bad times but I am out.

ULM Alumni meeting

Saturday morning meeting of the alumni association- here’s some points of interest.

ULM and University of Louisiana Monroe are now registered trademarks.

Branding efforts are underway to really emphasize the P-40 and Chennault connection to the Monroe area. Part of this is having an educational class to teach incoming freshmen on it as well as incoming/new faculty and staff.

The Hawkhead ULM is not going away but will see more of the P-40 in branding. The picture shows a mock up NOT ACTUAL truck wrap, but gives an idea of what the branding will look like.

Foundation brought in or increases endowment by $9 million with $2 million going back to the university.

Alumni association has a little under 1,000 members - so join now because the cost is going up for next year, or just join lifetime.

Wine Over Water coming up in April - a lot of talk about moving it to a Friday/Saturday in the future to allow for more remote participation.

Some talk about product licensing and getting more gear out there. Peter Millar coming to the Toggery in Monroe. Big push of products into Academy and Sam’s.

Fant Ewing Makeover

During my absence, I seem to have gotten lost in translation as to whether the coliseum makeover is a real thing. I saw where someone posted renderings of what Fant is expected to look like.

Have we secured federal/state funds for this project? If we have when is a timeline for this and are these funds for structural and aesthetic building enhancements only?

Saturday when I went to the Women's gameI saw what looked like preliminary work being done at the main entrance

I understand Hartwell, during Dusty's interview, mentioned we are in the process of securing naming rights for a new scoreboard so I take it the bill for anything sports specific will be on ULM securing private donations.

Can someone please clarify?

Thanks.

2024 Football Roster

The 2024 football roster is on the ULM website. You have to search for it. When you open the roster look to the right where the year is located, select year 2023 then select go, once that year pops up go back to year 2024 select go, the new roster will load. I hope that makes sense.

As you will see the new signees from December are not on the roster, but we can see who left and who stayed.

Womens Basketball Support

With the successful season so far in Womens Basketball, how about showing some thanks by supporting the team. I’m going to donate $10. Per win for the season. Going to give $100. Now and another $100. When they hit 20 wins and more at the end of the season.
you can do this on the Athletic Foundation site go the donate and click on Womens Basketball site. You can put any amount you want.

Just a easy way to say Thanks.

ULM Trivia

Edited:

I just came across an article about what college alums have actually scored points in the Super Bowl (not TD passes thrown) and it broke down the total points by school. For instance, Lafayette has scored a total of 13 points in Super Bowls which put them at 58th place out of 142 schools listed. LaTech has scored 24 points to tie at 32nd. ULM, however, has never scored a point in the big game.

But I dug a little further and found this nugget: Stan Humphries threw for and completed the first 2-point conversion in Super Bowl history in XXIX (1995). So there's that.

Back to work...

ULM Bookstore

Yes guys...I'm back. Had a cordial conversation with Dusty and he graciously let me post again...I'm sure to the disgust of some of you...and I understand that...I acknowledge I'm a loose cannon more often than not but to be honest...I feel I'm a voice of some who want to voice their opinions but fear the repercussion...

Anyway, I went to the ULM Bookstore Friday and was AMAZED at the sideline apparel that they have! LOTS of Adidas offerings!
