Ciante Downs is our newest women's basketball transfer. She is transferring from Mercer. She's a 5'8" guard.

Ciante was a third team juco all america at Gulf Coast State in 2022-2023.

Anyone have a report?

The women are in first place after first round in the SBC Championship! I hope they have a repeat.

Sakyia White from Florida State has entered the transfer portal. She was a first team All America for Coach Bilderback last year.

Wasn’t yesterday signing day? Did Richard sign anyone? Did he try to sign anyone? Did any of players left or enter portal? Did he sign anyone from portal? Do we still have men’s basketball or just going to pay him for next year? Crickets! I saw Missy is taking care of business signed 2 from portal that are sure to help elevate her program. I guess all we have to look forward to next men’s year is our victories over Ecclecia, Sisters of the poor and Neville Jr High…….

Happened to be looking through this and came across ULMs "facility master plan" detailing "one stop shop" for retail and ticketing and a indoor practice facility. Also connected the east and west side of Malone stadium? However using the link or accessing the QR code, it brings you to the 2013 facility master plan. Guess they haven't gotten around to uploading the new one.

Nothing specific here, just know the portal is opening back up soon. Saw this kid is in the portal, I wonder if the staff is in his ear about coming here or if he’s going to Tulane.

Football has added a home-home to the 2027 & 2028 schedules against Sam Houston. The 1st game will be 9/4/27 at Malone Stadium, while the return trip will be in Huntsville 9/23/28.

Has been named the HC at Neville High.

Kicker on campus

All I can say is I hope our starting QB isn't on campus right now. Of course they are running drills and not in full pads but nothing I have seen impresses me at all. We got 8 listed on the roster but the only 3 I have identifed is Herring, Velez and Murphy. Maybe once pads are on things will improve but they all seem a bit shaky once DBs are put out there.

As for Vincent, he reminds me of an old school high school coach. Has to coach and not manage, so he is out there on drills and in someone's ear. Not afraid to get on someone/everyone's ass. Some yelling, some cussing. Only thing missing is a chaw of tobacco.
