Seemed a bit defeated to start...the "relationships" portion made me think the team may be turning on him/teammates/etc. Who Knows! Either way, glad to have the win.

Kind of feels like there will have to be plays made through the air in this one to get it done. UAB should be the more cohesive unit in this area. If we can force a few turnovers and cash in on short field maybe we pull this off. For time being still too many question marks with 73 new players.

Loser: UAB coach Trent Dilfer
ULM coach Bryant Vincent was a longtime UAB assistant when he was named the program's interim coach in 2022. After the season, he was passed over by former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, who came to the job without any college coaching experience. Dilfer took over a UAB program coming off six straight winning seasons. After a 32-6 loss against Vincent's Warhawks, Dilfer is now 3-9 against FBS opponents.

UAB's signature offense averaged 3.9 yards per play and 2.6 yards per carry against a team that allowed FCS Jackson State to drop 14 points in Week 1. The Warhawks obliterated UAB's defense to the tune of 209 yards and two scores. It's one thing to lose a nonconfence game badly. What's worse is seeing what could have been.

Here are the official stats from Thursday's game posted from our athletic department. Everyone needs to remember this is a team who has only been fully assembled since the end of May. Overall, I'm very happy with the performance, but the true test will be Saturday for obvious reasons.

That time of the year again to start firing out our weekly predictions. One Week from today we are in action....

I think it will take weeks for the passing game to be efficient. I hope we can rely on a dominant run game early on. Excited to see our True Freshman RB people are raving about. I say we rush for something in the 240 yard range as a team. We challenge them and bring heat all day defensively. Close game throughout until we get our MOJO.
