Something very special happened today that will not receive the coverage it deserves. ULM received permission to move forward with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. The benefit to the school, student body and community cannot be overstated. This is still a fast-growing, well-paid and much demanded profession that will attract and retain outstanding students. The services these doctors will provide in our community will be significant. I am sure it will go largely under-reported by the local paper, but folks these is huge. There is more that will be coming soon as our university is establishing a reputation as the provider of the best health care professionals in the southern region.
