As far as I have read, he originally is from Columbia, MO (where he attended Hickman HS). He and his mother then moved to Victorville, CA, where Howard played on an 8-man high school football team (High Desert Academy). The high school given on various sites from which he graduated was Rock Bridge in Columbia, MO. After graduating from high school, Howard went to Riverside CC and then enrolled/graduated from Foothill C in Los Altos Hills, CA. I have not read whether his mom went back to CA with him after his high school graduation.
