Well, I threw away another $5 to watch a terrible effort. It looks like only 2 players move on offense: whoever is playing point and one other player. No one else seems to really move. No one crashes the boards. They dribble around the perimeter and shoot late in the clock. Their shooting is horrendous. And when I say horrendous I am talking a girl taking a shot from 5 feet, it hitting the backboard and then same side of rim. Not even close. It was so bad I couldn't tell if she was trying to do a bank shot and missed badly or trying for the rim and missed badly. No discipline. No court awareness. Sad Sad Sad. I know it was hard to do but they have regressed from the beginning of the year to now.
I was talking to folks in the know who did confirm that this is BDW's last year of the contract. If Scott was smart, or at least had cajones, he would just not renew her contract and begin the search for a new coach. This isn't COVID. This isn't injuries. This isn't "rebuilding". This is her third year and there is nothing that you can look at and say "we are just around the corner from improving".
