It was a windy day in Monroe, but the Warhawks continued through in their spring practice routine.

This practice was highlighted by a more lengthy session of full 11 on 11 offense versus defense drills. The coaches were extremely focused on the techniques of the players. Both units ran a limited amount of plays, focusing on execution.

The quarterbacks and receivers were struggling with both the wind and communication. The secondary was able to get several interceptions off the quarterbacks from either errand throws or the quarterback and receiver being on different pages. Lenzy Pipkins and Xavier Dias both had impressive interceptions.

Ajalen Holley continued getting reps both at receiver and split in the backfield as a running back. There was more motion in the offense pre-snap. The more telling sign in the development of the team was the time the offensive line was able to give the quarterbacks. They were more able to handle the base 4-man rush and a blitz package.

On the defensive side, the coaches focused heavily on communication between players before the snap. They wanted the players to be sure they knew the coverage set and how to play their role. Even if there was an incompletion, the coaching staff was not always pleased if a player did not play a coverage correctly or communicate properly.

The Warhawks will return to the practice field Sunday, March 20th at 3:10 P.M.
