here's the quick hit notes from the weekly ULM press conference.
From Todd Berry
The gap between the top 20 or so programs will continue to separate themselves from the G5
Talent takes you only so far before the chemistry takes over
Know little about Nicholls
Tremendous respect for Rebowe
New staff and who they will play personnel different from past.
It's going to be about us preparing this week
Missouri St OC who will call plays.
Huge mental challenge in preparing
Focus on fundamentals and getting better, try exposing players to different looks.
Adjust well and follow blocking and gap rules
When first here, there was no expectations when playing a game like that (vs Georgia)
Tend to grow the most between weeks one and two. With this being Nicholls first game got to hope heh make mistakes that we will not make having already played.
Early games - UGA did some different things and we did too. On the 2nd Q we started having a bit of traction.
There's an air about Smith that I really like.
55 snaps also not too many to allow for backup QB play. Not too up tempo to allow Garrett to adjust and play.
Goal was to win the time of possession and we did.
Injuries are going to happen. Sometime without even contact. Georgia is a physical team. There's 128 FBS teams and UGA is #9. No one really wants to play them.
Ceaser - it's amazing how the guys hat show up everyday in practice and how well they perform.
Some familiarity between Garrett and Rashon so there's a comfort level. Garrett for a freshman to complete 80% of his passes, I'm excited about him.
He threw interception early then rallied up.
Nicholls will probably try to take Rashon out of the game early so you really have to be dynamic in the passing game and distribute the ball. Wish there was a little more depth at WR - hope the guys prepare better this week. Just because you are 2nd in depth chart doesn't mean you are second on the field.
