Although I've been told there are mini versions of the current ULM helmet available, I've never seen any for sale from a retail outlet (online or brick/mortar). So, evidently, they are a top secret item for high-level donor types. Fortunately, I stumbled across an eBay listing the other day for a guy selling a custom made ULM mini helmet. (https://bit.ly/ULMminihelmet) So, I had to make an addition to my small collection...
I've asked him if he would create others and he seems interested. I'm guessing he'd be even more interested if he knew there were other folks like me. Personally, I feel like I'm not going to be complete until I have all of the primary helmets of the FBS era (not counting the one-offs we've had). But if I had to start with one, I think the most important would be the helmet we wore for the first season of I-A football...
After that, I'd probably go with the spear design since it's most associated with the early days of Coach Z and I-A at "Northeast":
And a true collection couldn't be complete without the last Indian helmet ever:
