There's no way to know that yet, but I was really proud of how the guys played last night. Yes, there is still a lot of work to do in all three phases of the game, but they kept playing hard and bounced back every time it looked like USA was about to take control of the game. Evans had a fantastic game completing 68% of his passes for 279 yards, 3 TDs and only 1 INT. He seemed in complete control the whole time and it was amazing to see him play like a veteran. The OLine did a fantastic job as well and didn't give up a single sack. Lack of pressure tends to help out of Freshman QB. The D fought hard, hung in there and made the play that sealed the W.
Only time will tell if the corner has been turned, but there was definitely a different feel about the game last night. The players just looked like they expected to win.
On a side note: I've seen just about enough of Backus. His mouth assisted in costing us one game already this season and he damn near did it again last night. He's a talented DB, but he's hurting the team with idiotic antics.
