We’ve lacked both all year and it cost us. Stupid penalties, offense that would surge then sputter. We just never had consistency at all this year. Defense had this too but that’s to be expected given where they were. Evans is one of the most frustrating players I’ve ever seen at this school. So much potential and so little development of it. Honestly, I would take a qb with less talent and more polish at this point. If he wants to leave then so be it. There’s grad transfers that I think could run this offense pretty much the same but without the mental mistakes.
Bigger corners would be great but it’s ULM and it is what it is. Big schools will get those guys, not us. We still look small at certain positions. When Connell went on the field, it stunned me how thin he was.
I’m not sure what the offense looks like next year. Without Green and Gore, I don’t know who our most consistent (even though Green could have misfires too) players will be.
ULM has no one to blame but themselves for this season. We could have already been at 7 wins if we just don’t sleepwalk during the Georgia State game and get hammered. We could have still been at 7 wins after this game if we didn’t turn the ball over twice in the red zone.
