2-deep Army

Couple things that jump out to me -

Thad Franklin, Jr - is listed as the #4 RB. Maybe he didn't have a good of a fall camp as we thought.
Blake Murphy is 3rd QB - will be interesting to see if we see him at all this season if something happens to Jiya Wright.
All of the starters for OL are over 300 lbs; the second string...close, but not there - so interested to see how that depth plays out in the opener and throughout the season.
Not a fan of having Hunter Smith - the #1 RB as a kick returner. Rather save his speed and hits for in-game play.

I Wanted to...But....

I can't take another letdown...I may regret it but I just can't justify dropping $700 considering our history....I'll pass on season tickets this year....I'm just tired of being sold a bullshit sale of goods.....I mean, MY GOD!!! We have a 67 year old trying to tell our fan base that THIS is the year...

I just can't buy into it....I'll cautiously watch but I'm not gonna go all in....I just can't...If I drop another chunk of money and we tank, I will kick myself in the ass and will again feel like the dumbass who succumbed to broken promises...

I'll watch on TV or online or whatever....but I'm not dropping a chunk of money until I see tangible change...I pray our new AD actually cares and isn't just spewing lip service...

I guess I belong to a large part of the fan base who would sacrifice a few hundred dollars if I knew ULM could honestly put a product on the field worth investing in....

What’s in a name?

Over a year ago I retired and left Louisiana to travel. Been traveling through the mid west with a home base of south Florida. Here in south Florida there are a lot of retirees. Many snowbirds from the north. A lot of big school fans from every university imaginable. I wear my ULM apparel or cap some as I go out and ‘mingle’. I made an effort to see if these fans know what school I support. You might find it surprising but almost always they know. Almost always we are referred to as Louisiana Monroe. You might also find it surprising but many will say something like ‘we have a good football team’! I think many remember the big games we’ve played in and the few big wins we’ve had. Other than that I don’t think they follow us too much. I never receive any disrespect. Now it might be different if I ran into some smaller school fans like from our own conference. After soo many years I’m hoping we can finally say to ourselves also ‘we have a good football team’! Even though I’ve moved, I will be returning for the home opener against Army. In my travels I’ve also mapped out at least three away games I’ll be attending. The other games I’ll be watching from the local Cape Coral Florida pub with the OTHER well known football team fans. Now, let’s get the season started…

First ESPN Bottom 10 for 2023

Just more disrespect for ULM. ULM is listed at #3 in the Bottom 10 to start the season. The supposed reason for this, roster turnover. It didn't mention that we kept both coordinators and that they had a chance to recruit to run their schemes. If so, the writer would have been caused to accept the fact that much of the roster turnover had to do with the staff purging guys who just did not fit. The three biggest losses we had were Cutler (Ohio State), Rogers (UNT), and Ledet (Texas Tech). Some can argue that Wright replacing Rogers limits any loss there. Cutler was decent for us, but it's not like we lost an All-Conference player. The most impactful loss was Ledet, as I had him projected as being an All-Conference player for us. However, we have replaced his production from last season with Ware and the transfer from USC. If they can give us more than what we got from Ledet in 2022, that will be a gain there.
