HOUSTON – Six members of the ULM track team finished in the Top-10 of their respective events at Houston G5 & Super 22 Invitational as the meet drew to a close on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the University of Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse. The Warhawks wrapped up the two-day event with a total of 12 Top-10 finishes.

The combination of Kennedy Gerard, Micaiah Dendy, Rebekka Schubert and Reggie Shallowhorn each placed sixth and were responsible for the highest individual finish for ULM on Saturday.

Gerard capped off the women’s high jump by clearing 5-5, placing herself in a tie with North Texas’ Charlotte Kerr for sixth.

Dendy enjoyed her third Top-10 finish of the season in the women’s triple jump with a leap of 39-7 (12.06 meters). That mark is Dendy’s best of the season, topping a previous season best of 11.86 meters, which came in the Ted Nelson Invitational on Jan. 17. Teammate Jala Richard also took part in the event, finishing 20th overall with a leap of 35-3 3/4.

Shallowhorn, one of three ULM men competing in the high jump, put together his third straight Top-10 performance in the event. Shallowhorn cleared 6-4 3/4 to finish in sixth while Darryl Givens (6-0 3/4) and Austin Walker (6-0 3/4) came in ninth and 10th, respectively.

Schubert wrapped up the women’s pentathlon in sixth, amassing 3,472 points along the way to establishing personal bests in each of the five events. She improved her personal record by 260 points in the pentathlon. Schubert completed the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.36, finishing eighth along the way. In the 800-meter run, she crossed the line fourth in a time of 2:32.78. In the high jump event, she cleared 5-0 1/4, topping a previous career best of 4-9 1/2 at the LSU Bayou Bengal on Feb. 1, 2019.

Schubert continued her solid performance in the pentathlon by claiming third in the long jump with a leap of 18-5. That was almost a foot longer that her previous landing of 17-6 3/4 at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships on Feb. 19, 2019. Schubert capped off the shot put with a heave of 35-10 1/2, which was over a foot better (34-3 1/2) than her previous personal best that came in the LSU Bayou Bengal on Feb. 1, 2019.

Jaylen Wade was the top performer for the Warhawks in Saturday’s running events, crossing the line in the women’s 5,000-meter run in 17:11.57, placing 14th. Jakob Fudge claimed 15th in the men’s shot put with a heave of 48-5 1/2.

The combination of Brittney Roberson, Jasmine Williams, Fiebe Tengrootenhuysen and Sydney Curry posted a season-best time of 3:56.28 in the women’s 4x400 meter relay to finish 16th.

The Warhawks return to the track on Friday, Feb. 14, when they head to Birmingham, Alabama, to compete in the Samford Invitational.
